Jammu, Dec 1: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Jammu has emerged victorious in the Women's Chess Championship at CONVOQUER 2024, a prestigious intercollegiate sports fest hosted by IIT Jammu.

The championship-winning team, comprised of four exceptional medical students, demonstrated remarkable strategic skills and teamwork throughout the tournament. The victorious squad included Alna A. Soni and Kanchan Lata from the 2020 batch, Rakhi Mittal, also from the 2020 batch, and Ghazal Chawla from the 2022 batch.

In a thrilling competition that saw participation from six institutions, including Jammu University and IIT Jammu, the AIIMS Jammu team showcased exceptional performance across three intense rounds. They dominated Jammu University in the first round, delivered a commanding victory against IIT Jammu in the second round, and sealed their triumph by defeating MIET in the final round.
