AIHCEF meets CJI, seek OPS for High Court employees
Srinagar, Sep 28: A delegation from Bombay High Court, representing the Executive Body of the All-India High Court Employees Federation (AIHCEF), held an interaction with the Chief Justice of India, Justice Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai, during the inauguration ceremony of the newly-constructed District and Sessions Court Building in Nashik.
A statement of AIHCEF issued here quoted the Secretary General of the Federation, Asif Iqbal Mahajan, as saying that the delegation was led by Sunil Shinde, Senior Vice President, and included Vinodini Worlikar, Vice President, and Rajindra Khilari, Chief Treasurer.
Despite a packed schedule, the Chief Justice granted the delegation an early morning audience, reflecting his deep regard for the concerns of judicial staff across the country, the Secretary General said.
He said the Federation briefed the Chief Justice on the recently constituted General Body, formed at Babu Tower, Patna.
“A detailed representation was submitted, urging the implementation of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for High Court employees nationwide,” he said.
The delegation also raised infrastructure issues with the CJI, he said.
“The Chief Justice of India listened with empathy and seriousness, assuring the delegation that all genuine concerns will be duly considered, Mahajan said. “He (CJI) also instructed the Secretary to officially receive and process the representation.”
This meeting marks a “golden milestone”, the first official interaction between the All-India High Court Employees Federation and CJI, he said.
“The warm and positive response from His Lordship has instilled renewed energy and confidence in the Federation’s ongoing efforts to safeguard the rights and welfare of High Court staff across the nation,” he said.
