Ahead of PM’s visit, security beefed up in Srinagar
Srinagar, Feb 29: A week ahead of the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, security has been beefed up in the summer capital especially around the Sheri- Kashmir International Convention centre (SKICC) the venue of his rally.
The surveillance has been beefed up in other parts of Srinagar and additional check posts have come up for frisking to monitor movement of people.
The SKICC, located on the banks of picturesque Dal Lake, has been designated as the venue for the PM's rally during his visit to Srinagar on March 7. Security personnel are conducting regular patrols and checks to ensure the safety and security of the area. The security apparatus in the city has been significantly bolstered, with additional security forces deployed and heightened surveillance measures in place. Aerial surveillance drones have been deployed to monitor the area, particularly around Dal Lake and its surrounding areas.
In addition to the aerial surveillance drones, regular patrolling has been intensified in and around Dal Lake. Security personnel, including police and paramilitary forces, are conducting regular patrols both on foot and in boats to ensure the security of the area.
