Agha Hassan criticises Waqf amendment bill
Srinagar, Jan 31: Islamic scholar and Shia leader, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosavi Al-Safvi, has strongly condemned the proposed Waqf amendment bill, calling it a deliberate conspiracy against Muslims and an attack on their religious rights, reports a news agency, KNT.
Addressing a gathering at Central Imam Barah in Budgam during Friday prayers, Agha Hassan criticised the bill as a blatant interference in Islam and an attempt to undermine Muslim identity. He said that the legislation could impact religious institutions and the community’s right to worship.
“This bill is not just a legal issue; it is an assault on our faith and fundamental rights. The government is trying to interfere in our religion under the guise of legislation,” Agha Hassan said, urging the Muslim community to oppose the bill at every level.
