Aga Ruhulla inaugurates GVMUN 2024 at Srinagar school
Srinagar, Aug 30: The Member Parliament for the Srinagar Parliament constituency, Aga Syed Ruhulla Mehdi on Friday inaugurated Green Valley Model United Nations (GVMUN 2024) at the school campus.
Aga Syed Ruhulla Mehdi, who was the chief guest at the occasion inaugurated the event by formally banging the gavel at GVMUN.
The event was organised to foster global awareness and diplomatic skills among the youth.
In his address to the students Aga Syed Ruhulla Mehdi emphasized the significance of GVMUN as a platform for young minds to engage in dialogue on pressing global issues.
"Such interactions play a great role in shaping the leaders of tomorrow. Participation of students in debates and discussions at a young age equips them with the skills and clarity needed for future challenges," Mehdi said.
He further highlighted importance of early involvement of school children in such initiatives, stressing that such occasions help the students to cultivate a deeper understanding of global affairs, which will empower them to contribute effectively to society.
The students from different schools including Foundation World School, RP School Malabagh, RP School HMT, Imamiya Mission School
Leh , Ladakh, Delhi Public School (DPS), PCHS, Burn Hall participated in the GVMUN.
The event featured multiple committees, including JKPPM, AIPPM, UNW, UNHRC, and UNSC, providing a broad spectrum of topics for discussion and debate.
Speaking at the occasion, Chairman GVEI Muhammad Yousuf Wani stated that orgnising such initiatives has always remained a commitment of school management.
"Our aim is to provide the students of our schools and other institutions such platforms where they share these enriching experiences and get prepared to navigate and influence the complex global landscape," Wani said.
Principal GVEI, M D Zargar in his address extended his gratitude to the chief guest for attending the event.
