Advocate General D C Raina resigns

Srinagar, Oct 18: Advocate General D C Raina resigned from his post on Friday.

Raina, appointed on November 1, 2019, as the Advocate General of the Union Territory of J&K, submitted his resignation formally to the government today, sources said.

As the elected government led by Omar Abdullah has taken over, Raina’s resignation will likely be accepted, paving the way for the appointment of a new Advocate General.

Raina was earlier appointed as Advocate General to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir in September 2008, February 2016, and July 2018.

Till the filing of this report, the government had not accepted Raina’s resignation.
