Ganderbal , Aug 30: Amid inclement weather, the district administration Ganderbal on Friday issued an advisory for people of the district, especially for those living in Kangan sub-division, Lar, Watlar, Waliwar, Chountwaliwar, Chanthangulabpora and those in the higher reaches of the district to remain cautious and refrain from going out.

An official advisory issued from the administration said that amid inclement weather and rain/thunder forecast, people from these areas should not venture in slopes, hilly areas, or flood/ landslide prone areas until the weather improves.

The administration also directed different departments including, police, SDRF, Tehsildars, I&FC, R&B, PHE, KPDCL, PMGSY, Mechanical Engineering, MC Ganderbal, and Beacon to stay in coordination during the period.

Meanwhile Ganderbal police has also advised people to avoid trekking to upper reaches including Naranag and Gangbal due to inclement weather conditions. “ Due to inclement Weather Conditions and continuous rainfall, General Public is informed to avoid Trekking in the upper reaches of District Ganderbal, especially Sonamarg and NaraNag.
