Srinagar, Aug 05: Ujala Cygnus Healthcare marked its second anniversary in Srinagar by unveiling the innovative 'Jan Sehat' initiative, aimed at empowering women from remote areas to become healthcare entrepreneurs. The launch event was attended by R R Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, and Dr Mushtaq Rather, Director Health Services Kashmir.

The 'Jan Sehat' programme will provide training, support, and resources to women in far-flung regions, recognizing their crucial role in community health. As part of the initiative, women will receive advanced biochemistry analyzers capable of conducting 20-28 tests simultaneously, enabling them to offer vital diagnostic services within their communities.

Dr Pervez Sofi, Managing Director of Ujala Cygnus Kashmir Hospital, emphasized that the scheme would foster entrepreneurship among women while improving healthcare access in underserved areas. To support these entrepreneurs, Ujala Cygnus has committed to providing a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000 per woman involved in the program.

Dr Suchin Bajaj, founder and director of Ujala Cygnus, highlighted the importance of community-driven healthcare solutions and emphasized that empowering women is crucial for building resilient health systems.
