‘Administration will take multiple steps for traffic decongestion in Srinagar’

Srinagar, Oct 28: To assess the progress of ongoing infrastructure upgradation works aimed at easing traffic congestion around the Bone and Joint Hospital, Barzulla, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, on Tuesday conducted an on-site inspection of the road expansion and macadamisation works being executed along the Bone & Joint Hospital, Barzulla.

On the occasion, the DC took stock of the ongoing road upgradation measures along the Bund, including macadamisation works. He also took stock of the possible traffic decongestion measures in and around the hospital, which included the proposal of construction of ramps & small Link Road connecting the main road with the Parking facilities through the Bund side.

Reviewing the pace and quality of work, the DC directed the concerned departments to expedite the completion of all remaining components of the ongoing macadamisation project. He emphasised the need for close coordination among executing agencies to minimize public inconvenience and ensure uninterrupted traffic flow during the execution of the works.

DC Srinagar highlighted that the District Administration is focused around taking specific multiple steps to ensure decongestion of traffic in the city through a mix of short term, mid term & long term steps & projects.
