ADGP L&O, Div Com Jammu visit Poonch, assess security scenario
Poonch, Dec 24: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Law and Order (L&O) Vijay Kumar and Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar visited Poonch on Sunday and took stock of the security scenario in the district post-Dera Ki Gali (DKG) encounter in which 5 Army personnel were killed.
An official spokesman in a statement issued here said that during the meeting, ADGP L&O assured the representative of all the communities that an impartial investigation would be conducted into the incident.
He said that appropriate anti-terrorist measures along with the Army would be taken to kill the foreign terrorists.
The ADGP L&O along with the Divisional Commissioner Jammu and IGP Jammu Zone, Anand Jain visited Poonch on Sunday morning and interacted with the District Development Council (DDC) Chairman, DDC members, and other members of the committees.
Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Rajouri-Poonch Range Haseeb Mughal also accompanied the ADGP L&O.
During the visit, the officers met with civil society delegations and got feedback on a wide range of issues.
Interacting with the locals, the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar assured the local communities of enhanced security arrangements and a revamped plan of action to prevent terror-related incidents in
the district.
He assured the residents of fair treatment and compensation to all the victims of terrorism-related events.
Kumar assured that the LG’s administration was committed to maintaining peace and providing a sense of complete security to all districts, especially the border districts of Poonch and Rajouri.
A detailed discussion on various security-related aspects was conducted with Deputy Commissioner Poonch Yasin M Choudhary and SSP Poonch Vinay Kumar.
As the discussion ensued, the ADGP (L&O) and Divisional Commissioner Jammu issued a slew of instructions to the district administration for stepping up vigil to improve the general security scenario in the district.
