Jammu, Apr 19: In preparation for the upcoming Inter Battalion and Inter Zone Sports Meet-2025, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed J&K, Anand Jain (IPS), chaired a high-level review meeting at the Police Headquarters in Jammu on Saturday to finalise arrangements under the Civic Action Programme (CAP).

The twin sporting events, as per a press statement, are scheduled from April 21–25 and April 27–30, which will see participation from across the police force.

During the meeting, the ADGP Armed took feedback from the concerned officers and assigned various jobs for the smooth conduct of both the events. On-the-spot directions were imparted upon the officers for timely completion of the pending works/issues. ADGP Armed stressed to the officers to take all necessary steps to make these events a mega success.

The necessary arrangements/preparations were done for opening and closing ceremonies, viz., sequence/timing, category-wise events, security arrangements, installation of a public address system, transportation, ambulance and medical facilities, arrangement of refreshments for the participants, accommodation for the participating teams, etc were discussed and deliberated upon minutely on the occasion.

ADGP Armed added that J&K Police has always provided opportunities for the budding players/talented youth by organising a number of sports activities at the district, range, zonal and state levels under the Civic Action Programme. The talent spotting should also be done from the players who are participating in both the events for which a committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of Commandant IRP -19th Bn.

The ADGP emphasised that hosting such an event is an honour for the J&K Police, and we are committed to providing every possible facility during the event. He impressed upon the managing staff to put in place all possible resources for the smooth conduct of the event. He further added that this event will also be a learning experience for our sports persons and will boost their morale.

The meeting was attended by all the senior officers, including S/Shri Vinod Kumar, IPS DIG Armed Jammu, Shiv Kumar, IPS, DIG JKS Range; Rajesh Sharma, IPS SSP Sec Jammu, Fasil Qurashi, SSP Traffic Jammu, Commandants of Jammu City-Based Battalions, Dr Baljeet Singh, CMO Police Hospital Jammu, and other officers.
