Srinagar, Apr 28:  Additional Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) companies have arrived in Kashmir to assist in election duties ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections.

The deployment of these forces aims to ensure the smooth conduct of elections in Kashmir amidst security challenges.

The arrival of the CAPF companies comes as part of the Election Commission of India's (ECI) efforts to maintain law and order during the electoral process.

The presence of these forces is expected to enhance security measures and provide a sense of safety to voters and election officials.

The CAPF companies will work in coordination with the local police and security forces to ensure the peaceful conduct of elections.

“Some companies arrived in south Kashmir districts on Sunday,” a senior Police officer said. “They mobilised from Jammu division where the election process was completed.”

The officer said that after the south Kashmir phase, these additional companies will be moved to central and north Kashmir for elections.

The additional forces will be deployed strategically in various parts of Kashmir to cover polling stations and sensitive areas.

Their presence is aimed at deterring any attempts to disrupt the electoral process and ensuring that voters can exercise their franchise without fear.
