Action taken against individual for misusing social media in Poonch: Police

Poonch, Jun 1: Police in Poonch said it had taken action against an individual for misusing social media platforms. In its official statement, police said that in a firm move to uphold law and order, it has taken swift action against a trouble monger namely Ajaz Ahmed, son of Mohd Bashir Sheikh resident of village Salian in Surankote sub division of Poonch.

Police said that the identified individual was “attempting to disturb peace and social harmony in the society through the misuse of social media platforms”.

To maintain law and order in the region, police further said, Ajaz Ahmed has been booked under preventive detention and sent to judicial lockup.  This proactive measure underscores the commitment of the Poonch Police to ensuring public safety and security, police further said.
