Ace of Spades Division commemorates Kargil Vijay Diwas

Rajouri, July 21: In a tribute to the valor and sacrifice of the soldiers who fought during the Kargil War, the Ace of Spades Division of the Indian Army organised a motorcycle rally on the occasion of the 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas.

According to a press release, the rally featured thirty spirited bikers which commenced from Garhi, Nowshera culminating at Narian through QilaDarhal, Rajouri symbolizing a journey of honour and remembrance.

The rally started amidst an atmosphere of patriotic fervor from Garhi, Nowshera early in the morning. The event witnessed the participation of senior military officials, local dignitaries, and enthusiastic residents who gathered to support and cheer for the riders.

The rally was designed to not only pay homage to the heroes of the Kargil War but also to foster a sense of unity and national pride among the participants and spectators. The route of the rally traversed through the picturesque yet challenging terrains of Rajouri District of Jammu and Kashmir, covering a distance of approximately 80 kilometers.

The bikers, clad in KargilDiwas commemorative attire, navigated through the region's winding roads and scenic landscapes, reflecting the resilience and determination that are synonymous with the Indian Army. During the rally they paid their obeisance at War Memorials at QilaDarhal, Rajouri and Narian. The journey symbolised the relentless spirit of the soldiers who fought in the harsh conditions of the Kargil War.

Throughout the rally, the participants made several stops at various locations to interact with local communities, share stories of valor, and distribute commemorative materials. These interactions served to strengthen the bond between the military and the civilians, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the armed forces' sacrifices. At Rajouri War Memorial, Major General Gaurav Rishi, SC, SM, GOC 25 Infantry Division interacted with the bikers and congratulated them for their participation in such a glorious event.

The rally culminated at Narian War Memorial with a wreath laying ceremony attended by military personnel and local populace. The closing ceremony featured a moment of silence to honor the fallen heroes, followed by speeches and cultural performances that highlighted the rich heritage and unity of the nation. Brigadier DKS Sharawat, Commander Tithwal Brigade flagged in the rally at Narian and emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices made during the Kargil War and the significance of Kargil Vijay Diwas in the nation's history.

The bikers were felicitated by Brigadier Sharawat by presenting commemorative caps, medals and certificates of appreciation for their whole hearted participation.

The Ace of Spades Division's motorcycle rally was not only a fitting tribute to the soldiers but also a powerful reminder of the values of courage, determination, and patriotism that define the Indian Army.

As the nation marks the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, such events serve to reinforce the collective memory and inspire future generations to honor and emulate the legacy of the Kargil heroes.
