Accelerate connectivity projects, J-K CM Omar Abdullah asks union minister Gadkari in New Delhi
Srinagar, Oct 24: J-K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Thursday met the Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari in the national capital to discuss the ongoing projects in the Union Territory of J&K.
The meeting focused on the expansion of road infrastructure and strategic highway projects.
Omar expressed the need for accelerating the ongoing projects, especially those aimed at improving connectivity in the rural areas and the hinterlands, reported news agency KINS.
The improvement in transport facilities across the J&K was also discussed.
Reports said the the union minister assured the J-K CM of central government's plan to develop the Union Territory.
Gadkari emphasized the importance of infrastructure in boosting economic growth in the region and termed the ongoing projects as a game-changer for connectivity with the rest of the country.
