ACB celebrates International Anti-Corruption Day across J&K
Srinagar, Dec 9: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) organised various programmes across Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day on Monday.
A statement of the ACB issued here said that the theme for this year’s International Anti Corruption Day was ‘Uniting With Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow’s Integrity.’ The theme focused on involving youth in anti-corruption efforts. The International Anti-Corruption Day introduced by the United Nations highlighting the need for collective action from governments and private sectors to eliminate corruption is observed on December 9 every year.
The statement said that the ACB Srinagar observed the day at six locations at different educational institutions including Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Ganderbal.
The main event was organised at SP College Srinagar where SSP ACB Srinagar Zahoor Ahmad Wani presided over the function with Principal SP College Muhammad Farooq Mir and faculty members besides a gathering of a large number of students participating in the event.
Other events were organised at Government Degree Colleges Khan Sahab, Beerwah, Ganderbal, and Government Women’s College Srinagar.
During the events, officers of ACB Srinagar and faculty members of concerned institutions deliberated on the importance of the celebration of the day.
