ACB apprehends PWD AEE Sopore for demanding bribe

Srinagar, Oct 17: The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau acted on a complaint from a contractor against AEE PWD (R&B) Division Sopore, Mubarak Ahmad Ganie, alleging that the officer was demanding a 2% commission as a bribe for processing his bill, and caught the AEE red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000.

The accused AEE was arrested on the spot and the bribe money of Rs 25,000 was recovered from his possession in the presence of independent witnesses. Additionally, during his personal search, some cash was also recovered.
