Abiguzar residents seek road repairs
Srinagar, Sep 29: Residents of Abiguzar area in Lal Chowk have demanded immediate repairs of the main road leading to the locality.
A delegation from the area said the road from the main market to the locality was dug up for laying underground power cables. “However, the road has been filled up haphazardly and even left with open ducts. As a result, vehicles including school buses and vans get stuck in the newly filled-up road. This can cause accidents and poses risk to commuters, especially students,” they said.
Several shopkeepers said that the dilapidated road is caving in and pedestrians including customers face problems to walk.
“It is ironic that concerned authorities have left the road without proper repairs and macadamisation. We make a fervent appeal to Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and CEO Smart City Ltd to look into the matter,” they added.
