Abandoned mortar shell recovered in Poonch, destroyed: Police

Poonch, Feb 21: Security forces on Wednesday evening recovered an abandoned mortar shell in Surankote area of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

They said soon after the reports reached a police party and SOG Surankote reached to the spot and recovered the shell.

“After reports reached a police party along with SOG Surankote reached to the spot and recovered the old shell from a Nalla in Habib Nagar area,” SHO Surankote Mukhtar Ali told Greater Kashmir.

The SHO added that the shell was later destroyed.
