AAC holds condolence meeting
Srinagar, Nov 3: The Awami Action Committee (AAC) on Sunday convened a condolence meeting to honour the memory of Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Ahmad Shah, son of the renowned Kashmir leader and religious scholar, Muhajir-e-Millat and Mufassir-e-Quran, Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Yousuf Shah.
A statement of the AAC issued here said that the meeting was held at AAC headquarters, Mirwaiz Manzil Srinagar, following Shah’s passing in Islamabad, Pakistan.
AAC members expressed sorrow and paid tribute to the deceased, emphasising his lifelong dedication to public service and the promotion of Islamic teachings.
In particular, they acknowledged his significant role in spreading the teachings of the Quran through his work ‘Tafsir Bayaan al-Furqan’, which was broadcast over radio, reaching countless homes.
AAC members extended condolences to the Mirwaiz family, particularly to the organisation’s head, Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, and the deceased’s son, Moulvi Muhammad Yahya.
The statement said that Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq will receive condolences at Mirwaiz Manzil, Rajouri Kadal, on Monday from 10:30 am.
A funeral prayer in absentia will take place at 1 pm in the courtyard of the Jamia Masjid, Srinagar.
