A world without Dentists
Today, 20th of March, every year the world celebrates “World Oral Health Day”, to remind us of the importance of Oral Health in our lives. We take this opportunity to raise awareness on the importance of Oral Health and Dentistry at large. To make our readers imagine the importance of dentistry in our lives, we let you imagine a world without Dentists and oral care, the consequences of which would be profound and far-reaching. Here’s a glimpse into such a scenario:
A World Devoid of Dentists
In a land where toothbrushes lay to rest,
And floss is but a memory, at best.
Where mouthwash is a tale of old,
And dental tales no longer told.
The smiles fade, the faces grim,
As tooth decay begins to win.
D and discomfort become the norm,
As oral health care is not performed.
No fluoride to strengthen the enamel shield,
No cleanings to make bacteria yield.
Teeth once white, now shades of grey,
As cavities claim their rightful prey.
The young and old, all bear the cost,
Of oral health that’s long been lost.
Infections spread without control,
Taking a toll on the overall soul.
The value of a dentist’s care,
Now clear, beyond compare.
For in a world where they’re unseen,
The pearly whites are but a dream.
So let’s appreciate the care we get,
And keep our dental visits set.
For without them, we’d surely see,
A world of dental misery.
Without access to professional dental care, individuals would have to rely solely on their own practices to maintain oral hygiene, which might not be sufficient to prevent serious dental issues. The theme of World Oral Health Day- 2024 for the next 3 years is “A Happy Mouth is… A Happy Body” ,highlighting the critical role that dental professionals play in preserving not just oral health, but overall health and quality of life.
