A look at Virat’s 2024 IPL performance
Srinagar, Mar 14: As the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 approaches, all eyes are on the players who lit up the previous season with their batting prowess. The 2024 edition saw some breathtaking performances, with Virat Kohli leading the run charts.
Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) Virat Kohli reaffirmed his status as the king of IPL batting, amassing a staggering 741 runs in 15 matches at an impressive average of 61.75. His century—an unbeaten *113—was one of the highlights of the season, and his strike rate of 154.69 showcased his ability to accelerate when needed. With 62 fours and 38 sixes, Kohli’s consistency was unmatched, making him the Orange Cap winner of 2024.
Ahead of the start of 14th edition of the league, Virat Kohli announced that this would be his final season as Captain of the RCB. Virat Kohli who took over as RCB's full-time captain in 2013, led them in 140 matches, winning 66 and losing as many as 70. What the former RCB Skipper also confirmed to the fans ahead of the IPL Mega Auction was that he will always remain and RCB player, loyal to his franchise.
