District administrations have been requested to impose restrictions under Section 163 of BNSS to prevent any kind of external interference during the exams.

In view of the falling temperatures, JKBOSE has advised students, particularly in far-flung and hilly areas, to wear warm clothing to stay comfortable during the examinations.

The examinations are being held at a time when JKBOSE continues to function without a full-time chairperson. The charge of the Board is currently held by the Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education Department, Shantmanu, as an interim arrangement.

As per the schedule released earlier, Class 12th examinations will commence from November 8, followed by Class 11th from November 19.

This year, 81,622 students — 65,001 from Kashmir and 17,621 from winter zone areas of Jammu — have registered for the Class 11th exams, while 70,117 students — 56,423 from Kashmir and 13,694 from winter zone Jammu — will appear in the Class 12th exams.

JKBOSE has set up 760 examination centres for Class 11th — 574 in Kashmir and 186 in Jammu — and 692 for Class 12th — 530 in Kashmir and 162 in Jammu.

In view of disruptions during the current academic session, the Board has announced a 15 percent relaxation in the syllabus for students appearing in Classes 10th, 11th, and 12th examinations.
