Eight injured in road accident in South Kashmir's Qazigund

9 tourists injured in Qazigund accident

Qazigund, Mar 20: Eight persons were injured on Thursday when a vehicle collided with a truck on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway in South Kashmir's Qazigund area. The vehicle, a Tempo Traveller, was traveling from Jammu to Srinagar when it met with an accident.

According to an official, the Tempo Traveller (number PB01B-7720) was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar when it met with an accident near the Power Grid Station in Nipora, leading to injuries among the passengers.

"The injured were rushed to GMC Anantnag for treatment," the official added.

Rohit Sharma, the manager of a travel agency, while talking to Greater Kashmir, said, "Eight staff members of our travel agency were injured in an accident when our vehicle, a Tempo Traveller, collided with a truck in the Qazigund area."

"I met all of them, and they are all in stable condition," he added.

The injured have been identified as:

Vikram Kumar, son of Deva Ram, resident of Rajasthan, age 39; Avala Krishna Chaitanya, son of Avala Bala Nagendra Krishna Murthy, resident of Andhra Pradesh, age 28; Aftab, son of Mohd Vaseen Saray, resident of Uttar Pradesh, age 46; Shanbo, son of Vakano, resident of Mumbai, age 38; Khota, son of Maiy Ram, resident of Rajasthan, age 38; Ramlal, son of Shamlal, resident of Mumbai, age 40; Vabak Kumar, son of Vinod Kumar, resident of Mumbai, age 39; Anil Kumar, son of Ray Kumar, resident of Kalwa, Mumbai, age 34; and Rahul, son of Rashpal, resident of Rajasthan
