9 flights cancelled, 2 diverted at Srinagar airport due to gusty winds

Srinagar, Mar 28: Amid gusty winds, authorities at Srinagar airport on Friday informed to have cancelled nine flights even as diverting two others.

An Airport official, as per news agency Kashmir Bulletin, said that they could accommodate only eleven arrivals and as many departures between 6:30 AM and 16:50 PM.

"Most of the flights for the day were delayed, due to steep pressure gradient with heavy winds around airport venue," the official said.

Pertinent to mention here that various parts in central Kashmir, including those falling in Srinagar, have been witnessing gusty winds since last evening, with reports of damage to residential houses and vehicles at various places.
