8 shops gutted in fire incident at Gundoh in Doda district

Ramban, Apr 8: Eight shops were gutted in a fire incident at Bus Stand Gawari Bhalessa in Gundoh area of Doda district today.

Official sources said the fire broke out in a shop. The fire engulfed eight other adjoining shops.

Officials said no loss of life or injury to any person was reported. However property worth lakhs of rupees were damaged in this fire incident.

Initially, locals and police tried to control the fire. Later a fire tender reached the spot.

They said the fire was jointly brought under control by the fire and emergency services with the active support of the police and the general public. But till then eight shops were destroyed completely.

Later Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police Doda, Javeed Iqbal visited Gawari Gundoh to assess the losses due to the fire incident.

The Deputy Commissioner met with fire victims, and locals and assured them of providing every possible help from the district administration. Meanwhile, locals of Gawari have demanded a fire tender station in the area.
