8 miscreants booked under PSA in Baramulla: Police

Baramulla, Apr 15: Acting tough against troublemakers, Police in Baramulla booked eight miscreants under the Public Safety Act.

The miscreants identified as Waqar Ahmad Bhat, resident of New Colony Kreeri, Danish Hussain Gojree, resident of Takisultan Drangbal, Taseen Ahmad Hurra, resident of Pethpora Hamrey, Mohd Abdullah Bhat, resident of New Colony Palhallan, Mohd Ashraf Wani @ Ashraf Haji, resident of Utikoo Kunzer, Suhail Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Sheikh Mohalla Kunzer, Touseef Ahmad Akhoon, resident of Khanpora and Abdul Majeed Shah, resident of Iqbal Colony Pattan have been booked under the Public Safety Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.

The booked persons have been detained and subsequently lodged in District Jail Udhampur and Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu.

Pertinent to mention here that many cases are registered against these persons and they were involved in disturbance of public order, criminal activities and subversion. Despite their involvement in many FIRs, they did not mend their activities, and thus were booked under Public Safety Act, police said.
