8 members of nomadic family injured in Chenani-Nashri tunnel accident

Banihal, Apr 11 : At least eight members of a nomadic family injured in a collision inside Chennai - Nashri tunnel along Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on Friday, officials said.

They also said that twenty sheep and goats of nomadic family got killed in the incident.

A police official said that a truck bearing registration number JK21-3479 loaded with nomadic dera/family was coming from Jammu side towards Ramban which hit another vehicle bearing registration number JK21A-4397 from back side inside Chenani-Nashri tunnel along Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.

In the incident eight members of the nomadic family sustained injuries who have been shifted to Chenani hospital for treatment, the official said.

He added 20 sheep and goat also killed on the spot.

Police Station Batote has taken cognizance of the incident and started investigation, he added.
