8 houses gutted in Bhadarwah fire
Ramban, Nov 16: Eight residential houses were gutted in a fire at Chiniot area of Bhadarwah this morning.
Officials said no loss of life was reported, however, property worth crores of rupees was destroyed in the incident.
They said fire broke out in the wee hours of Thursday in a residential house at Chiniot and spread and engulfed other adjoining houses.
They said on getting information initially a fire tender from fire station Bhadrawah reached the spot later fire tenders from other stations also reached there and controlled the fire spreading more but till then eight residential houses, one Hotel, and a restaurant were reduced to ashes.
Later Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, DIG, Sunil Gupta, SSP, Doda Abdul Qayoom and other district officers’ visited the Chiniot, assessed damages and met with fire victim families. He assured them of providing every possible help from administration.
He passed on directions to district officers, ADC Bhadrawah. Earlier in view of relief and rescue operations the road leading to the Chiniot area was temporarily closed.
