79 25  students pass 10th standard bose exams

Srinagar, June 13: The J&K Board of School Education (BOSE) Thursday declared the result of the annual class 10th regular annual (2024) examination with an overall pass percentage of 79.25 percent.


As per the BOSE, a total of 1,46,136 students – 74,395 girls and 71,741 boys - had enrolled for the class 10th annual examination of which 1,15,816 students passed the exam with a pass percentage of 79.25 percent - 81.10 percent for girls and 77.33 percent for boys.


The class 10th examination in soft zone areas of J&K was conducted by the BOSE from March 11, 2024, while the examination of students in hard zone areas was held from April 4, 2024, and culminated on May 6, 2024.


According to BOSE, the pass percentage of students of private schools has been recorded as 91.83 compared to 72.91 percent of the government school students.


It said 97,143 students from government schools appeared in the exams and 70,828 qualified while 48,993 students from private schools appeared in the exam and 44,988 qualified.


The BOSE said that around 14,115 students passed the exam with grades A1; 17,471 with A2; 23,365 with B1; 29,117 with B2; 25,467 with C1, 6269 with C2 and 45 students have been awarded Grade D.


Soon after the declaration of the result, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha congratulated the students who cleared the class 10th exams.


“Heartening to note that girls have performed exceptionally well. I appreciate teachers and parents for their support and dedication. Best wishes to students for your future endeavours,” the Office of the LG posted on microblogging site X.

The School Education Department (SED) also congratulated the students who passed the class 10th examination.

“Congratulations to all successful candidates of class 10th Annual Regular Examination-2024 of both J&K and Ladakh,” the SED posted on its X handle.

As per the subject-wise performance, students have performed poorly in English as only 83 percent passed the subject.

The pass percentage of students in Mathematics subject has been recorded as 88 percent, Hindi 96 percent, Urdu 91 percent, Science 87 percent, and Social Studies 92 percent.

The results of three students have been shown as Dispute Eligibility, four students have been awarded Unfair Means while the BOSE has cancelled the exam of around 34 students.

Another 31 students have been disqualified for one year while the result of 30 students shows Later On.

Meanwhile, Chairman BOSE Prof Parikshat Singh Manhas congratulated all the successful candidates of the class 10th Annual Regular (2024) examination of both J&K and Ladakh.

He also thanked the administrative machinery, SED, India Posts, team of the officers and officials of BOSE, and teachers who tirelessly contributed to the smooth conduct of the examination followed by cooperation in the evaluation and all other people who directly or indirectly contributed towards the success of this examination

“It is a matter of pride to see that girls have secured a higher percentage than boys. Though it was their first board examination, the students had great enthusiasm. The pass percentage of 79.25 is a witness to this fact. I congratulate all students and teachers for their hard work,” Prof Manhas said.

He said that the students who could not make it this time should try again with revised strategies.

“BOSE is consistent in its efforts for upgrading and fine-tuning its mechanisms and processes for the student welfare and I am confident that with the implementation of more initiatives in the pipeline, many services will be further improved,” Prof Manhas said.
