772 posts created in GRP J&K for Katra-Banihal segment

Jammu, Aug 17: The Home Department has accorded approval to the creation of 772 posts in the Government Railway Police (GRP), J&K for the newly established GRP units between the Katra-Banihal segment and 83 posts in the Prosecution Department.

As per the order, 772 posts in various ranks for newly established Administrative Units of GRP, were created vide Government Order No 283-Home of 2024 dated June 24, 2024, in the GRP, J&K.

These posts included one post of Superintendent of Police in the pay level - Level-11 (67700-208700); 2 posts of Deputy Superintendent of Police of Level-8 (47600-151100); 4 posts of Inspector of Level-6E (35900-113500); 18 posts of Sub-Inspector of Level-6C (35700-113100); 38 posts of Assistant Sub Inspector of Level-6 (35400-112400); 88 posts of Head Constable of Level-5 (29200-92300); 260 posts each of Selection Grade Constable of Level-4 (25500-81100) and Constable of Level-2 (19900-63200); 28 posts of Follower of SL-I (14800-47100); 2 posts each of Sub-

Inspector (S) of Level 6-C (35700-113100) and Sub-Inspector (M) of Level 6-C (35700-113100); 3 posts of Assistant Sub Inspector (M) of Level-6 (35400-112400); 2 posts of Assistant Sub Inspector (S) of Level-6 (35400-112400); 5 posts of Selection Grade Constable (M) of Level-4 (25500-81100); one post of Inspector (Tel) of Level-6E (35900-113500); 2 posts of Head Constable (TEL) of Level-5 (29200-92300); 14 posts each of Selection Grade Constable (TEL) of Level-4 (25500-81100) and Constable (TEL) of Level-2 (19900-63200); 4 posts of Sub-Inspector (Photography) of Level 6-C (35700-113100); 8 posts of Constable (Photography) of Level-2 (19900-63200); 12 posts of Dog Handler and 4 posts of Kennel Boy, both of Level SL-I (14800-47100).

Through a separate order, sanction has also been accorded to the creation of 83 posts of various ranks in the Prosecution department for the establishment of the District Directorate of Prosecution, in terms of Section 20 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS), in each district of the UT of J&K.

As per the order issued by Principal Secretary, Home, Chandraker Bharti, 83 posts were created including eight posts of Deputy Director Prosecution in the pay level (as per 7th CPC) of L-12 (78800-209200); 3 posts of Senior Prosecuting Officer of L-9 (52700-166700); 18 posts of Prosecuting Officer of L-8 (47600-151100); 10 posts of Account Assistant of L-5 (29200-92300); 20 posts each of Junior Assistant of L-4 (25500-81100) and Head Constable of L-5 (29200-92300) and 4 posts of Class IV of SLI (14800-47100).
