75-yr-old man charred to death at Jawahar Nagar

Srinagar, Jan 31: An elderly man was charred to death at Jawahar Nagar area here on Wednesday evening, officials said.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the ground floor of a three-storey residential house was involved in a fire at Jawahar Nagar.

He added that while clearing the fire debris, the F&ES official found the body identified as Bashir Ahmad (75), lying under the debris.

The body was taken to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities.
