72% students pass 11th annual exams

Boys register 69% pass percentage, girls 75%

Srinagar, July 14: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) Sunday announced the results of the class 11th annual regular (2024) exams with a pass percentage of 72 percent.

According to official data, a total of 1,23,026 students from across Jammu and Kashmir appeared for the exams of which 88,396 qualified successfully.

The pass percentage for boys has been recorded at 69 percent while the pass percentage for girls stands at 75 percent.

The examination of class 11th students in soft zone areas commenced on April 2, 2024, and culminated on May 1, 2024.

The examination of class 11th students in hard zone areas commenced on April 22, 2024, and culminated on May 26, 2024.

As per the official data, 29,647 boys from the Arts stream appeared in the exam of which 15,749 qualified the exam while 4141 boys from the Commerce stream appeared in the exam and 3331 have been declared passed.

Also, 29,974 boys from the Science stream appeared in the class 11th exam of which 24,708 qualified.

The pass percentage of boys in the Arts stream has been recorded as 53 percent, Commerce 80 percent, and Science 82 percent. Similarly, the pass percentage of girls in the Arts stream has been recorded as 65 percent as out of 28,783 girls who appeared in the class 11th exam, 18710 passed it.

In the Commerce stream, of the 1692 students, 1485 passed the exam with a pass percentage of 88 percent and of the 28,791 girl students from the Science stream who appeared in the exam, 24413 qualified with a pass percentage of 85 percent.

As per the official data, around 32,163 students passed the class 11th examination with distinction while 38,998 students have been awarded first division and 16,400 passed the exam in second division.

Also, 797 students passed the exam with 3rd division, 31,174 will have to reappear in some subjects, and 3462 failed to pass any of the five subjects.

The BOSE has marked 117 students absent in the exams, eight have been shown Dispute Eligibility in their results, and the examination of 14 students has been cancelled.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha felicitated all the students who passed the BOSE class 11th regular session 2024 examination.

“Wishing you all the best for your future academic pursuits. Compliments to the proud parents, teachers, and JKBOSE for their support and dedication,” the Office of the J&K LG wrote on its official X handle.

Principal Secretary School Education Department (SED) Alok Kumar congratulated all the 11th-grade students who passed the exam. “Congratulations to the class 11th students for hard work and success in the annual regular 2024 exams. Your dedication has paid off and this achievement is a significant milestone in your journey. Keep striving for excellence and reaching for your dreams,” SED wrote on its official X handle.
