7-day refresher course for DYSS officials commences at TRC Kishtwar

Kishtwar, Oct 29: The District Youth Services and Sports Department on Wednesday inaugurated a seven-day Refresher Course for PEMs, PETs, REKs and GMs here at the TRC Kishtwar. The orientation event aims to enhance professional skills, knowledge and instructional techniques among physical education personnel.

The programme, as per an official statement, is being conducted under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma and under the supervision of Director General, YSS J&K Anuradha Gupta, with guidance from Joint Director YSS Jammu Vinakshi Koul.

The Chief Guest at the inaugural ceremony, DYSSO Jaffer Haider Sheikh, in his keynote address, emphasised the importance of continuous learning and physical education in shaping well-rounded youth.

He shared valuable insights and practical tips with the participants, highlighting the significance of fitness, discipline and innovation in the field of sports and physical education.

The course activities began with morning assembly prayers, light physical exercises and interactive theoretical sessions, followed by hands-on practical demonstrations focusing on modern training methods, fitness regimes and effective class management strategies.

The participants enthusiastically engaged in all sessions designed to refresh and update their professional competencies.

The Refresher Course aims to promote excellence in physical education by equipping PEMs, PETs, REKs and GMs with the latest knowledge, methodologies and pedagogical tools necessary to motivate young athletes and students across Kishtwar District.

The seven-day programme will continue till 3rd November 2025, featuring a series of lectures, group activities, sports drills and experience-sharing sessions led by experts and senior sports officials.
