6 vehicles seized for illegal transportation of minerals in Handwara

Handwara, June 14:  To curb the menace of illegal mining, Police in Handwara have seized 6 vehicles (1 Tipper, 5 Tractors) involved in extraction and transportation of minerals from Mawer Nallah and other Nallahs.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Handwara and investigations have been initiated.

“People are requested to come forward or dial 112 regarding any information about illegal extraction of minerals,” police said. Police warned of stringent action as per law against those whosoever was found involved in such activities.
