6 vehicles involved in illegal mining seized in Ganderbal: Police

Srinagar, Dec 01: Continuing its special drive against illegal mining and transportation of minerals, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday seized 05 Tractors & 01 Tipper involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minor minerals from different areas falling under the jurisdiction of PS Kangan, PS Gund and PP Sonamarg respectively.

The vehicles were found transporting minerals without valid permission and were subsequently seized on the spot by concerned police teams in coordination with the Geology and Mining Department.

Police reiterated its firm resolve to take strict action against those involved in such unlawful activities. They advised the genera public to refrain from indulging in illegal mining and transportation of minerals.

Police added that strict legal action shall be taken against the violators.
