6 persons arrested for illegal transportation of minerals in Kulgam

Kulgam, Sep 12: To curb the menace of illegal mining, Police in Kulgam along with Geology and Mining Department Kulgam have seized 6 vehicles (4 Tractors and 2 Tippers) and arrested 6 persons involved in extraction and transportation of minerals from river Vaishow and other Nallahs.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Qaimoh and Police Station Devsar and further investigation have been initiated.

People are requested to come forward or dial 112 regarding any information about illegal extraction and transportation of minerals. Police have warned of stringent action as per law against those whosoever found involved in such activities.
