6 hand grenades destroyed by SIA, Poonch Police

Rajouri, Feb 28: State Investigation Agency (SIA) and Poonch police today destroyed six hand grenades under a controlled explosion carried out at an abandoned location in the vicinity of Poonch town.

These grenades were seized in past for which a case already stand registered under the law. As per officials, an order for destruction of these hands grenades was issued by the Session Court Poonch.

These hand grenades, they said, were Chinese in nature and were recovered in a case FIR No 69/2023 of police station Poonch.

On the basis of order by the court, police officials said, a team of State Investigation Agency (SIA) assisted by Poonch Police and it’s Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) carried out a controlled explosion at river side near Sher e Kashmir bridge in the vicinity of Poonch town.

Through this explosion, they said, these six Chinese Grenades were destroyed with an Executive Magistrate was supervising the destruction process.
