Rajouri, Sept 15: Six encounters have raged in five districts across Jammu province during last three days with two terrorists, two army personnel have been killed while three army soldiers got injured.

These encounters ahead of assembly election are being taken seriously by the security setup with senior officer of police, army and other security forces are keeping a close vigil on security situation.

As per official figures, an encounter took place in upper reaches of Basantgarh three days ago in which two terrorists were killed by forces which was followed by another encounter in Kishtwar on Friday in which two army soldiers lost their lives while two others got injured.

On the same day, an encounter took place in Draba Chamrer forests of Surankote in Poonch wherein security forces and terrorists exchanged fire that continued for hours which was followed by busting of a terror hideout in dense woods.

On Saturday, Indian Army troops on Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera sector area of Rajouri district engaged terrorists in forward LoC areas with an army JCO got injured in exchange of fire between terrorists and army personnel.

On Sunday, twin encounters took place in the region with first one in Pathanateer village of Poonchs’ Mendhar sub division while second encounter in Bani area of Kathua district.
