6 arrested in Pulwama, Sopore

Srinagar, Dec: Cracking a whip on illegal mining of minerals, Police have arrested six persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Pulwama and Sopore.

A police team from Police Station Pulwama, arrested five persons and seized six vehicles for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Romshi Nallah. The arrested persons have been identified as Jaffer Hussain of Doda, Mohammad Shaheen Khan of Banali Boniyar, Nazir Ahmad Hajam son of Gusoo, Rafiq Ahmad Wani of Chewakalan Pulwama and Zahoor Ahmad Sofi of Wahibugh.

Meanwhile in Sopore, a Police team of Police Station Tarzoo headed by SHO PS Tarzoo seized a tractor and arrested a driver for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals. The driver has been identified as Mohammad Ashraf Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat resident of Amberpora Sopore.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.
