580 persons die in accidents in J&K till August

Jammu, Oct 9: 580 persons died in 4165 road accidents across Jammu and Kashmir up to August this year.

As per official statistics, across the Union Territory, Jammu district recorded the highest deaths i.e., 134, followed by Kathua which registered 58 deaths in road accidents. Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts registered 23, 24 and 21 deaths respectively during road accidents during this period.

In Kashmir division, Anantnag recorded 38 deaths in road accidents up to August.
