5696 Yatris embark on pilgrimage from Jammu
Jammu, July 4: 5696 Amarnath pilgrims of seventh batch Thursday embarked on pilgrimage, from Yatri Niwas - Jammu base camp at Bhagwati Nagar, to holy cave shrine in South Kashmir in 219 vehicles.
Meanwhile, Cyber Police Station Jammu issued an advisory cautioning against fake online helicopter tickets being offered on different websites for Shri Mata Vaishno Devi and Shri Amarnath Yatra. Officials said, “Of 5696 pilgrims, 3668, comprising 2896 males, 651 females, 5 children, 103 Sadhus and 13 Sadhvis left for Pahalgam in 122 vehicles while 2028 pilgrims, including 1591 males, 360 females, 5 children, 64 Sadhus and 8 Sadhvis left for Baltal in 97 vehicles.”
Cyber Police Station Jammu, through its advisory, warned pilgrims against fraudsters offering fake tickets. “This is for the information of the general public that fraudsters are offering fake online helicopter tickets on different websites for Shri Mata Vaishno Devi and Amarnath Yatra. Anybody while booking tickets shall properly check the authenticity of websites or shall book tickets from authentic sources. For any query or reporting any cyber crime call on 1930 or lodge your complaint online on www.cybercrime.gov.in,” police advisory for pilgrims read.
