5603 unemployed dental surgeons in J&K: Govt

Srinagar, Mar 25: The government Tuesday informed the House that there are approximately 5603 unemployed dental surgeons in J&K. In a written reply to a starred question by NC MLA from Kangan, Mian Mehar Ali, the Minister for Health and Medical Education, Sakina Itoo said that there are approximately 5603 unemployed dental surgeons in the entire J&K. To another question, It further said that there are 980 vacancies of Doctors in Jammu division while 420 vacancies in Kashmir division.

Further, the vacancies of paramedical staff in Jammu division are 2937 while in Kashmir division there are 1574 vacancies of paramedical staff.

Giving the district wise breakdown of the vacancies, the minister said that Ramban district has 74 vacant posts of Doctors and 152 vacant posts of paramedical staff. Similarly, Kishtwar, Doda, Poonch, Rajouri, Udhampur, Kathua, Samba, Reasi and Jammu districts have 75, 110, 131, 123, 125, 142, 40, 88 and 72 vacant posts of Doctors respectively. In Kashmir division, Srinagar, Budgam, Ganderbal, Pulwama, Anantnag, Kupwara, Kulgam, Shopian, Bandipora and Baramulla districts have 20, 33, 23, 49, 30, 111, 30, 18, 25 and 81 vacant posts of the Doctors respectively.

Further, as per the reply from the Minister, Ramban, Kishtwar, Doda, Poonch, Rajouri, Udhampur, Kathua, Samba, Reasi and Jammu districts have 152, 260, 257, 335, 348, 295, 376, 12, 265 and 627 number of vacant posts for paramedics . While, Srinagar, Budgam, Ganderbal, Pulwama, Anantnag, Kupwara, Kulgam, Shopian, Bandipora and Baramulla districts in Kashmir have 73, 289, 90, 120, 101, 310, 73, 121, 83 and 314 vacancies of Paramedical staff respectively.
