5 vehicles seized for illegal mineral mining in Ganderbal: Police

Srinagar, Sep 12: Police in Ganderbal have seized five vehicles for illegal extraction of minerals across the district.

The seized vehicles, illegally loaded with minerals extracted from Nallah Sindh, were intercepted within the jurisdiction of PS Kheerbawani, PS Gund and PP Nagbal.
Police said that cases under relevant sections of law have been registered and investigation has been initiated.

This decisive action underscores the strong commitment of J&K Police and the Geology & Mining Department in curbing the menace of illegal mining.

Police appealed community members to extend their cooperation by sharing any information regarding such unlawful activities in their areas. They assured complete confidentiality of the informants and reiterated its resolve to take strict legal action against those indulging in illegal mining.
