5 tractors seized in Handwara

Kupwara, Dec 3: The Handwara police in collaboration with the Geology and Mining department, swung into action against illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in the PD Handwara area and seized 5 tractors.

Loaded with illegal minerals, police initiated legal proceedings against the persons involved in illegal extraction without possessing any lawful authority.

“Police is resolutely committed to curb the scourge of illegal extraction of minerals in police district Handwara to safeguard the environment and prevent ecological damage that poses serious health risks to local residents. People are requested to come forward or dial 112 regarding any information about illegal extraction of minerals. Police warn stringent action as per law against those whosoever found involved in such activities.”
