5 policemen injured in Qazigund accident

Qazigund, Oct 24: Five policemen were injured after a vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident at a village in the Qazigund area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday.

According to an official, the incident occurred in Kurigam village, some 3 km from Qazigund town, at around 5:30 pm.

The official said that a moving Police van skidded off the road, injuring five policemen.

“The injured policemen were immediately shifted to emergency hospital Qazigund,” he said.

“Later, two of them were shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, given the grave nature of their injuries,” he said.

The injured policemen were identified as Mushtaq Ahmad, Waseem Ahmad, Murtaza Ahmad, Amir Suhail, and Sajad Ahmad.
