5 killed in Bangkok market shooting

New Delhi, Jul 28: Five people were killed and two others injured in a mass shooting at Bangkok’s Or Tor Kor Market on Monday.

The attacker, a Thai national, later died by suicide, police confirmed.

Among the victims were four security guards and a market worker. Two other vendors sustained injuries during the incident. Police said the gunman had prior disputes with the market's security staff. They clarified that the attack was not linked to ongoing tensions between Thailand and Cambodia. While Thailand has relatively high gun ownership in the region, mass shootings remain rare.
