5-day workshop on Python for AI commences at NIT Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 7: A five-day workshop on Python for Artificial Intelligence, organised by the Department of Information Technology, was inaugurated at NIT Srinagar by Incharge Director Prof Roohie Naaz Mir.

A statement of NIT issued here said that the event was attended by HoDs, Associate Dean R&C, faculty members, and participants.

In her address, Prof Naaz congratulated the Department of Information Technology for organizing the workshop. She highlighted the growing role of AI in today’s world and emphasised the importance of Python as a key tool for developing AI applications.

“AI is transforming every sector, from healthcare to finance. Python skills will give our students a strong foundation to innovate and excel in this fast-evolving field,” she said. Prof Naaz also encouraged students to continuously update their skills to keep pace with AI-driven innovation.

In his message, Registrar, NIT Srinagar, Prof Atikur Rehman said that workshops like these not only enhance technical knowledge but also prepare students for real-world challenges. “We are committed to supporting initiatives that foster innovation and learning,” he said.

HoD of Information Technology, Shabir Ahmad Sofi, lauded the overwhelming participation of students from diverse academic backgrounds. He stressed the significance of such workshops in equipping students with the skills necessary to excel in a competitive global environment.

The workshop coordinator, Saniya Zahoor, expressed gratitude to the Director, Registrar, HoD, and the organising team for their guidance and support.

She also elaborated on the applications of Artificial Intelligence across various fields and the crucial role of Python in AI development.

The workshop will provide hands-on experience and insights into the latest developments in Python-based AI applications, aiming to empower students with practical knowledge for future innovations.
