5-day training on NDPS cases concludes in Budgam
Srinagar, Oct 3: A five-day special training programme on the investigation of NDPS cases concluded at the District Police Office (DPO) Budgam on Friday.
The programme, held from September 29 to October 3, 2025, was organised under the guidance of SSP Budgam, Nikhil Borkar.
The training was aimed at sensitising and equipping Investigating Officers with advanced skills and knowledge pertaining to the investigation of cases under the NDPS Act.
Police officers from all establishments in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, including PSIs and Readers engaged in NDPS investigations, actively participated in the programme.
The sessions were conducted by Senior Prosecuting Officer, DPO Budgam, Dar Rashid.
The participants were apprised of the procedural requirements under the NDPS Act and were given detailed briefings on landmark judgments of the Supreme Court relating to NDPS cases.
The training also focused on techniques of financial and technical investigation in narcotics cases.
Special emphasis was laid on provisions of the PIT NDPS Act and on the preparation and compilation of dossiers.
The programme concluded with the reiteration of J&K Police’s commitment to strengthening the professional competence of its officers in handling narcotics-related cases with greater efficiency and legal precision.
