435 forged gun licences seized in Jammu
Jammu, July 25: Police Thursday seized 435 forged gun licences from the under-construction building of an owner of gun houses at Gadigarh in Jammu.
Police said, “During the intervening night of July 24 and 25, an information was received through a reliable source that one person namely Tirath Singh, resident of Gadigarh, who owns Gun houses, has kept a forged gun licence in his newly under-construction building at Gadigarh near Harward college.”
“Based on this input, a raid was conducted in presence of the magistrate at the building and a bag containing 435 gun licences was recovered along with some other documents,” police added.
According to police, in a four-storey building, these gun licenses were spread over three floors.
In this regard, an FIR No 177/2024 U/S 318(4), 339, 336, 340(2), 61(2) BNS was registered at Police Station Satwari and investigation was set into motion.
Owner of house Tirath Singh was being quizzed by J&K Police. “Further investigation is underway,” police said.
